This was one of the most beautiful and sonoric voices ever to sing on a stage. I only got to see him in person once in a concert in Puerto Rico when he was past his prime but the voice filled the Auditorium and he sang with great taste and, gladly, the voice was still robust and the sound was glorious. He had to stop for some five minutes between the songs until he got his breath back, but he never left the stage and sang with all his heart. I own many of his recordings, commercial and pirate, and I haven't heard a more beautiful tenor voice ever. The many great tenors since Caruso and Martinelli fortunately keep the tenor range very much alive with wonderful performances and glorious sound, but never a more beautiful tenor voice as this one.
May he rest in peace!!!
